Summer is here in earnest, and the kids are loving it. Evelyn is enjoying her break from school, and Charlotte likes having her big sister around all the time.
Except when they’re fighting.
But lately, they’ve actually been getting along a little bit better. Several mornings I’ve come downstairs to get breakfast for them to discover that they’re reading books together quietly on the couch, sharing a blanket. Which is just too sweet.
Here’s how I found Charlotte the other morning:
Some things we’ve done so far this summer:
- lots of walks
- strawberry picking
- mulberry picking (in our backyard!)
- swimming at our friends’ pool (we haven’t yet been to the YMCA pool)
- participating in the library’s summer reading program
Here’s a picture of Evelyn and my mom when we were sharing a picnic:
This weekend we’re going to list out the things we want to do/see this summer, because I know August will come quickly!
What are *you* up to these hot summer days? Leave a comment or send an e-mail! And we’d love to meet up with some of you, especially if it’s been a while since we’ve gotten together.
